Beautiful & Stylish Gloster House Wedding
Gloster House Wedding
I’m so thrilled to be finally sharing this beautifully stylish Gloster House wedding from this Autumn.
For a 300 year old Georgian Country House, Gloster House oozes glamour and elegance. It certainly has to be one of a wedding photographers favourite venues. I also know so many wedding planners in Ireland who adore this exclusive venue as it's such a versatile space for designing bespoke weddings.
Alyson & David are an amazing couple and they hired one hell of a team here to help bring their vision together. From the moment I met them for their engagement photos in Killarney National Park I knew this wedding was going to be so good.
The guys were incredibly brave to stick with their original wedding date despite all of the restrictions that this year has thrown at us. To be honest though, I absolutely love these smaller weddings as they are always just so intimate and full of emotion, even with 25 guests!
The wedding ceremony was held at The Holy Trinity Abbey Church in Adare, Co. Limerick which had been decorated beautifully for this special day. The wedding reception at Gloster House was so stunning. The styling and design by Alise Taggart and the team was spectacular. Check out the banqueting room for the meal… JUST WOW!
Anyway, I’m beyond words for this one so I hope you enjoy this visual story from Alyson and David’s Gloster House wedding!

Magical Garden Marquee Wedding
Marquee Wedding in Ireland
I've been so looking forward to sharing Gail and Philip’s intimate marquee wedding that I photographed last summer.
This incredible marquee wedding took place at Gail’s family home in Kildare where she grew up. The weather was certainly on our side and I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at the house that morning and saw all the preparations taking place.
“We wanted there to be a laid back atmosphere where guests (and ourselves) felt they could completely relax and have fun. We only wanted close friends and family to be present in order to keep the day very personal, intimate, and special. We didn’t want there to be any pretentiousness or excess fuss and flounce, nothing rigid or uptight…just delicious food, great music, a beautiful outdoor setting, and the people we love most in the world having a great aul’ time!”
A Secret Garden
Over the thirty-three year span, Gail’s parents had imagined and created a secret garden of refuge and wonder with their own bare hands, hearts, and vision. Gail describes it as “the most beautiful, meaningful setting we could have ever dreamed of and is appropriately symbolic of a life and love shared, nurtured and evolved over decades.”
The attention to detail on the day was just incredible. Each wedding party member played their role in bringing it all together. Gail's mother Tempy even handpicked the flowers from the garden that morning to make the table centerpieces in the marquee later that evening.
Outdoor Ceremony
After all the wedding preparation that morning it was time for the outdoor ceremony in the garden. The bride's brother Paul was also the celebrant on the day and the whole ceremony. Needless to say, there wasn't a dry eye to be seen! The ceremony even concluded with a Jewish wedding tradition of breaking the glass. Mazal Tov!
Wedding Caterers
Everyone got to relax and be with their friends and family during the drinks reception in the garden before being called into the Marquee for speeches and the mouthwatering buffet-style meal laid on by the good folks at LOVE FOOD, a local catering company who I’d highly recommend not just for a marquee wedding, but for any event. The food was just perfection.
Fields of gold
It had been a perfect Irish summer wedding so far with sunshine all day so during the dinner myself and Emma the wedding videographer from Edithouse could see that we were in for a beautiful sunset later on. We started to scope out some good spots to bring the couple after dinner. Luckily we didn't have to look far as there was a beautiful field just behind the Marquee that we knew would be perfect for some couples portraits! When we took the guys out after dinner the sun was just exactly where we wanted it. The golden light made for some gorgeous wedding photos.
Festival Wedding
When the sun had set the celebrations continued on at the marquee with live music and dancing. There was another Jewish wedding tradition of the hora where the couple are lifted into the air on chairs while their family and friends dance in circles around them.
As I was leaving that night I felt like I had just been a guest at this Marquee wedding. The campfires were lit and the garden had a real festival feel to it, alive under the night sky with guests enjoying the late-night food and drink until no doubt the wee hours of the morning!
Some great wedding advice from the couple
“Don’t listen to all of the surrounding chatter in the lead-up to your big day. Everyone will have an opinion and some might have issues with certain choices you make, but none of that is relevant. This celebration is truly about what you both want, so try to keep that in mind whenever details or guest expectations start to overwhelm.
You will likely underestimate how stressful the process can be (trust us — no matter how laid back a couple you are, it will become very stressful at points!), so don't kill yourselves or your joyful excitement with pressure and unnecessary perfection. Stick to the most essential elements of the day and remain flexible on the “small stuff”, because it really won’t matter once your ceremony begins.
Lastly, don’t skimp on the photographer/videographer! The day will fly by in the blink of an eye and you will be forever grateful for those recorded memories. We missed so much of our own wedding (you will, too; it’s unavoidable!), so getting to see it properly as a whole, after the fact, was a magical experience and it made the dream real.”
Gail and Philip, what an amazing Bride & Groom you were. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding for you and I’ve really loved the trip down memory lane while putting this feature together.

Adare Manor Wedding - A 5 Star Festive Celebration
Luxury Winter Wedding
An Adare Manor wedding really is a sight to behold. Having recently restored their Fairytale Castle in Ireland, the Adare Manor estate sits on 840 acres of parkland along the banks of the River Maigue.
From the moment I arrived through the door I knew this wedding was going to be something special. The attention to detail here is just incredible. The elegant yet relaxed feeling throughout the whole castle set the scene perfectly for Carol and Daragh’s winter wedding just before Christmas.
Chasing The Winter Daylight
Wedding photographers in Ireland know all too well about the changeable weather conditions that we always have to be prepared for, especially at winter weddings.
The light starts to fade very early in December. With that in mind, Carol & Daragh decided to skip the receiving line after their wedding ceremony at the Holy Trinity Abbey Church and hopped into their classic Rolls Royce wedding car to be whisked back to Adare Manor in style.
We wanted to make the most of the daylight while we still had it! This is something that I’ve seen a good few couples do recently at their winter weddings and I have to say it’s always paid off!
We were blessed with the mild temperature and the sun even came out and gave us some gorgeous light for some family pictures and couples portraits.
The Grand Ballroom at Adare Manor
One of the highlight features of an Adare Manor wedding has to be the Grand Ballroom and the stunning grand sweeping staircase with all their massive chandeliers. It’s certainly a lavish and luxurious display. I can see why so many couples fall in love with it the moment they set their eyes on it.
The ballroom looked so amazing with all the candles lit just before they called the guests for the meal. I just had to get a shot of the just the couple in the middle of the room to really showcase the scene!
Festive Celebrations
After the dinner, Carol and fourteen of her friends and family, who are all seasoned performers, performed a medley of Christmas songs in the ballroom and within no time had everyone joining in on the festive celebration!
After a couple of night shots outside and some shots in front of the famous giant Christmas tree in the lobby of Adare Manor it was straight back to the grand ballroom where their wedding band Harlequin took the party to another level until the small hours of the morning!
Thanks again to Julie and her incredible team @ Adare Manor. I cant wait to visit again real soon!

Relaxed Lisnavagh House Wedding
Destination wedding at this dream Irish venue
Raya and Michael’s Lisnavagh House wedding in May was certainly a day to remember. This 19th century Tudor Gothic house in Co. Carlow became the perfect destination wedding venue for these guys who both hail from California. It’s also a wedding photographer's dream!
Lisnavagh House Weddings
When Raya and her mother travelled to Ireland they spent five days searching for different wedding venues within 1.5 hours from Dublin. When she got to Lisnavagh, there was something magical about the place from the moment she drove in. The estate was both regal and beautiful but at the same time didn’t feel pretentious or overly formal. It was The Yew Walk that sealed the deal for her. The yew trees bow together to form an aisle. Just the thought of getting married in what looks like an enchanted forest solidified that this would be the perfect venue for them.
Outdoor Ceremony at The Yew Walk
Fast forward to the big day and it it wasn't long before Raya was making her way down The Yew Walk to marry her groom Michael! It really was a breathtaking scene beneath the trees with all the guests there to witness a beautiful ceremony. Michael’s Uncle was also the celebrant.
The weather was great all day too and the guests loved the drinks reception on the lawn beside the house. It was a perfect touch before the dinner and dancing kicked off in the Garden Wing of the house. Check out when the couple entered the room and went straight into the Zaffa, a traditional Arabic wedding dance before dinner. It didn't take long before the whole room was dancing with them too, really setting the mood for the rest of the evening!
If you are planning your Lisnavagh House wedding and would like some relaxed wedding photography too I’d love to hear from you.

Trump Doonbeg Wedding Photographer
Doonbeg Wedding Photography
I’ve really been looking forward to sharing Hailey and Martin’s Trump Doonbeg wedding from the end of May last year. As a wedding photographer I am lucky enough to visit some amazing locations around Ireland and this one is right up there with the very best of them. Set against the rugged Atlantic Irish coastline in West Clare, Trump International Doonbeg is a dream wedding venue that offers a luxurious Irish experience for its guests. What a gem of a place to get married and this couple really knew how to throw a party!
Preparations at the cottages
The preparations started that morning at the gorgeous cottages in Doonbeg. That was also when I first met the couples dog “Archie” the Australian Labradoodle. This guy is adorable. He loved all the attention from the girls and even posed for a group shot on the bed!
Hailey is from the USA originally and kept with the tradition of having a rather large bridal party. I thought she was only joking when she first told me she had 12 bridesmaids at the pre wedding meeting, but she wasn't joking. I nearly spilled my tea!
Outdoor Wedding Reception
Martin and the lads hit the putting green and had a toast before heading off to the church in Kilrush. The couple skipped the traditional receiving line after the ceremony and gathered up the bridal party to head straight back to Doonbeg for some quick shots before the celebrations commenced. It was probably the only chance that I would get all 22 of them together for the whole day!
The wedding guests were treated to an outdoor reception on the dunes, overlooking the ocean. I decided to let the guys enjoy their wedding reception and we used the time when guests were being called for dinner to get some lovely, relaxed couples portraits.
Sunset at the Pavilion
The light filled pavilion that overlooks the links golf course which was the perfect setting for the dinner and speeches. Check out that beautiful golden light flooding the room during the emotional speeches. A good few guests even strolled out onto the dunes to witness an epic pink sunset after the cake cutting.
Archie the Aussie Labradoodle made another appearance just before the first dance with The Madisons on duty keeping the dance floor hopping till the wee hours.
If you're planning your Trump Doonbeg wedding and still looking for a photographer then I’d love to hear about your plans!
